Gulfstream G550

The Gulfstream G550 is the flagship aircraft in the Gulfstream collection; it is the best long-range business-class jet in the world. It can fly up to 6,750 nm (from Tokyo to New York), and can cruise at up to Mach .885, meaning that it can fly faster and farther than any other aircraft in the same class. The G550 is the most versatile private jet in the world; it can launch from a 3500-foot strip with enough jet fuel to carry eight people from one coast of the US to the other.

The G550 is skilled at coping with short runways, but high heat, headwinds and elevated terrain do not present a challenge either. It will allow its users to travel wherever and whenever they want without the limitations of smaller jets. One of the G550's biggest highlights is its cockpit- it is equipped with a Honeywell Primus Epic avionics set, four LCD panels displaying flight informtion, and numerous other technological amenities. The Gulfstream Cursor Control Devices allow the crew to plan the flight, view navigation information and tune the radio with a simple click, and the EVS system improves the flight crew's situational awareness by allowing them to fly and land in low-visibility conditions.

Gulfstream's engineers partnered with Rolls-Royce to improve the efficiency of the G550's twin engines. This craft can fly well on long-range flights, and it is also adept at handling shorter, higher-speed flights as well. It has a shorter take-off distance, meaning that the plane can access more airports around the world. The G550 has 500 pounds more in take-off weight, allowing for more payload. It can carry up to nine passengers fully loaded with fuel, at a lower fuel use and operational cost.
